Demolition
A full-scale tear out of an average-sized bathroom should take about two days, but it will take longer if the bathroom is located on the second floor.
Rough Carpentry
You can take this out of the equation if your bathroom’s underlying structure is in good shape. Otherwise, this normally takes about two days to finish.
Plumbing
Installing the plumbing for your tub and toilet can take up to two days.
Electrical Rough-In
Running the electrical lines shouldn’t take more than a day if you’re working with a good professional electrician.
First Inspection
Depending on the availability of the inspector, you can expect the home interior remodeling timeline to be delayed a day or a week.
Insulation, Drywall, Paint
Insulation can be done in half a day, but the drywall installation process may take about three days to account for drying and sanding. Painting a bare bathroom takes about a day.
Final Inspection
Again, this will depend on the availability of the inspector.
Cabinetry and Other Fixtures
Hooking up the cabinets, toilet, tub and sink should take no more than three days.
Flooring
Installing flooring should maximum of two days, depending on the material. Add two more days if there’s tilework.
Final Notes
As with all home remodeling projects, allowance for contingencies is a must. This will bring the remodeling timeline to roughly a month.
